In 2026, Nourish raised a $100M Series C (total funding $215M) led by Menlo Ventures with participation from Thrive Capital, Index Ventures, J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners, Maverick Ventures, Y Combinator, BoxGroup, Atomico, Daybreak, and Operator Partners. As the Director of People Business Partnership, you will report to the VP of Operations & People and build and lead the People Business Partnership function from scratch. This is a 0→1 role where you will define the responsibilities and scope of the function, design the optimal organizational structure and roles, hire and manage the initial team, set strategy and vision, and evolve the function as the company scales. You will be a critical driver of Nourish's goal to maximize talent density and serve as a trusted strategic partner to the executive team and function heads. Key responsibilities include: - Serve as the first formal People Business Partner, learning the motion directly by working with department heads to understand their People support needs and rolling out impactful initiatives - Build and manage the People Business Partner function by designing org structure, defining key roles and responsibilities, hiring the first team members, and managing the team through scaling - Set strategy and vision for the function, including defining key goals, designing what success looks like, developing project and product roadmaps, and leading planning cycles - Act as a trusted partner to the executive team, department heads, and People leadership, helping leaders drive team performance and serving as the voice of people upward and voice of the people team outward; influence org design, performance management, and employee experience - Drive cross-functional projects and initiatives in service of talent density at Nourish This is a full-time, in-person role based in Nourish's Gramercy office in NYC with an expectation to work on-site approximately 3 days per week, with some additional remote flexibility. REQUIREMENTS: - 6–10 years of experience with a mix of strategy work (e.g., management consulting, business operations, financial services) and start-up experience; direct People and Talent-related experience preferred but not required - Strong people instincts and communication skills with the ability to influence Director, VP, and C-suite stakeholders and craft culture as the company scales - Strategic thinker who uses data and first principles to solve problems; comfortable challenging mainstream thinking if it doesn't work for Nourish - Operationally excellent with ability to manage high volume of moving pieces and competing priorities with strong attention to detail and organization skills while maintaining momentum and clarity in a fast-paced environment - Highly collaborative and cross-functional, able to work effectively across departments to advance goals - Energized by 0→1 and 1→10 work; enjoys stepping into undefined spaces to build structure, momentum, and clarity
