Salary: USD 325,000 - 370,000 / annual
Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the energy and compute layer for the world's most ambitious AI workloads. As Senior Director of Cloud Engineering, you will lead a 60+ person Product Engineering organization responsible for Crusoe's customer-facing cloud platform—the software layer customers depend on daily for developer portals, identity management, billing, registries, metrics, and managed logging.
You will report to the Vice President of Engineering and lead through senior managers and engineering leads. Your core responsibilities include setting technical direction for the platform, driving the roadmap, and maintaining high standards for reliability, security, and on-call execution. You'll work closely with customers, stepping into critical escalations and major product decisions when stakes are high. You'll collaborate with Product and Solutions Engineering to translate customer needs into platform capabilities, and work with the broader infrastructure and AI platform teams to build shared technical foundations.
The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading 40-100+ engineer organizations. You have hands-on experience owning cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, or managed services) in production environments and understand what reliability at scale means. You're fluent in AI tooling, passionate about the developer ecosystem, and comfortable in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure. You've navigated growth-stage ambiguity while maintaining quality and on-call discipline, and you lead with directness and low ego—people trust you and you raise standards without adding noise.
Bonus experience includes time at AWS, GCP, Azure, CoreWeave, Lambda Labs, or similar cloud providers; AI/ML platform work at scale; scaling engineering organizations through rapid growth; and building products for both developer and enterprise audiences with strong UX sensibility.
