Berkshire Grey is seeking a Senior DevOps Networking Engineer to design, manage, and troubleshoot complex hybrid infrastructure that supports robotic systems. The role bridges networking, compute hardware, infrastructure as code, cloud, and Kubernetes environments. Robotic systems depend on fast, reliable networks with complex interconnected architectures. The company uses cloud-based infrastructure (AWS/GCP) for communication, data transport, and security, while the majority of compute occurs on bare metal hosted near robotic systems. You will work with both customer-facing systems and internal innovation infrastructure. Key responsibilities include: - Design, build, test, and deploy changes to production and pre-production environments - Manage traditional networking equipment, firmware updates, and connectivity for customer robotic systems - Troubleshoot and identify root causes using packet captures and log analysis - Ensure AWS/GCP production systems maintain availability, cost efficiency, performance, security, and scalability - Identify manual processes for automation and maintain/improve cloud infrastructure - Evaluate new technology alternatives and vendor products - Design secure, usable systems and provide architecture/process improvement recommendations - Participate in on-call rotation You will function as a troubleshooter and communicator across technical and non-technical audiences, managing the bridge between operational and developmental sides of the software development process. REQUIREMENTS: - Networking: 3–5 years of experience - DevOps engineering: 3 years of experience - AWS or GCP: 1 year of experience - Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes: 3 years of experience - Demonstrated competence with Linux systems engineering, networking, and infrastructure as code - Ability to troubleshoot code and improve performance in Kubernetes and Terraform settings - Technical knowledge in several of: Juniper/Cisco/Palo Alto/Zscaler, Terraform/Kustomize/shell scripting/Python, Linux/Kubernetes OS administration - Experience with multi-tier architectures (load balancers, caching, web servers, application servers, databases, networking) - Experience creating highly automated infrastructure - Ability to assist customers with networking and system troubleshooting - Clear written and verbal communication - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Must be able to commute to/work from Bedford, MA daily
