The Mind Company, creator of award-winning mental fitness apps (Elevate, Balance, Spark), is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to drive developer productivity and infrastructure excellence. This role combines two key responsibilities: maintaining platform health and shaping how the organization builds software with AI.
You'll own the infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD systems, mobile release automation (using GitHub Actions and Fastlane), data pipelines, and monitoring across the stack. The technical environment includes Heroku, AWS, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, DBT, Ruby on Rails, Node.js backends, and native iOS/Android mobile apps.
Equally important, you'll help define the organization's AI adoption strategy for software development. With vendor neutrality on AI tools, you'll experiment with emerging technologies, identify where AI genuinely improves engineering velocity, and build shared tooling and agent workflows that other engineers can adopt. You'll turn successful experiments into organizational practice.
You'll start embedded with one product team to understand engineering workflows deeply, then expand your scope across teams over time. Success means scaling yourself through documentation, demos, and tools that enable other engineers to self-serve, while maintaining the infrastructure that keeps the platform running.
The role requires 5+ years of professional software experience in DevOps or platform engineering. You should be comfortable navigating unfamiliar codebases, have genuine enthusiasm for AI's potential in software development, and a track record of building tooling that teams actually adopt. You'll work independently, identifying improvements and driving projects to completion with minimal management direction.
Bonus experience includes automated mobile app release processes, data pipeline work, production database tuning, incident response, and familiarity with mental health and wellness domains.
