Impulse is seeking a Senior Development Test Engineer to lead test equipment design and test operations for high-performance spacecraft development. You will own key test assets and major test programs, working across the company's Redondo Beach and Mojave facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems supporting liquid rocket propulsion and spacecraft systems testing
- Fully own key test assets and major test programs while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to meet technical and schedule objectives
- Perform test setup, hardware inspections, checkouts, and troubleshooting
- Conduct test operations focused on rapidly developing flight-ready hardware
- Resolve technical issues with innovative, resourceful solutions
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on hardware development testing experience
- Strong engineering fundamentals in thermal, structural, and fluids analysis
- Prior operational experience with aerospace test facilities
- Demonstrated ownership of test stand design and build-up
- Ability to create and communicate fluid P&IDs, electrical and controls schematics
- Proficiency in identifying and procuring test equipment
- Data acquisition and control systems expertise
- Strong project ownership and small-team collaboration skills
