Salary: CAD 190,400 - 309,400 / annual
Jane App is a founder-led, high-growth SaaS platform serving 70,000+ clinics across North America and the UK. The Communications group owns all patient-clinic interactions: appointment texts, secure messaging, email, fax, and other channels. This role leads a team of approximately 15 engineers and 3 engineering managers, partnering in a product triad with Design and Product leadership.
You will drive the Communications group's engineering strategy and execution across SMS, secure messaging, email, and fax channels used daily by tens of thousands of clinics. Key responsibilities include: leading engineering teams to deliver meaningful outcomes; building new products from zero to general availability (e.g., two-way text messaging); owning reliability and deliverability at scale across integrations with Twilio, Sendbird, and AWS; partnering closely with Product and Design to translate technical work for stakeholders and advocate for necessary technical investments; and championing practical AI adoption in both how the group builds and what it builds.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience leading engineering managers and senior engineers across multiple teams in a product-led SaaS environment
- Track record of building new products inside an established platform (zero-to-general availability experience, not just operating mature systems)
- A point of view on product beyond engineering; ability to challenge what gets built and why, and to hold triad partners to high standards with kindness
- Clear evidence of developing engineering managers and building high-performing teams
- Experience moving fast through iteration in regulatory-aware environments (healthcare or fintech experience is an asset)
