Salary: CAD 128,000 - 200,000 / annual
Jane App is a founder-led, high-growth SaaS company serving the healthcare clinic management space. The Payments team is responsible for how clinics collect revenue through Jane's platform—a business-critical function that directly enables clinics to focus on patient care. The team recently completed core payments infrastructure and is now building customer-facing features to deliver tangible value.
You will join as a Senior Developer reporting to Dan Feeny, Senior Development Manager. This is a backend-leaning role with opportunities to grow across the full stack. Key responsibilities include:
- Build customer-facing payments features including IC+ pricing, surcharging, and payment automation that turn infrastructure into real clinic value.
- Apply strong enterprise architecture patterns to design and scale payments systems reliably as complexity grows.
- Communicate proactively in team channels, sharing context, surfacing risks, and maintaining alignment across a distributed team.
- Move with bias to action, partnering closely with product to ship measurable outcomes.
- Embrace AI tools as part of your daily workflow and help raise the bar for how the team builds software.
Jane operates a remote-first model with team members across Canada, the US, and the UK. The company serves 70,000+ businesses with 250,000+ practitioners using the platform daily, and is experiencing accelerating growth.
**Requirements:**
- 8+ years of professional software development experience with strong backend expertise and solid grasp of enterprise architecture patterns.
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade systems, ideally in SaaS environments.
- Comfort working across the stack or genuine desire to grow into full-stack development.
- Strong bias to action paired with open, energetic, collaborative communication style.
- Enthusiasm for AI with hands-on experience using it in your work; AI software development lifecycle experience is a plus.
- Ruby on Rails experience is a nice-to-have but helpful for ramping quickly.
- Experience with payments or financial systems is a plus; adjacent experience (mortgage tech, property tech, loyalty/benefit card systems) also valued. Most importantly, genuine interest in this space.
