Jane App is seeking a Senior Developer for its Delivery Engineering team, a small, high-impact group responsible for building and maintaining the CI/CD pipelines that power code deployment across the company's shared codebase. The role is based remotely but requires working from the Eastern Time Zone or further east (Canada strongly preferred, UK/Atlantic also suitable) to extend the team's support window and enable more teams to deploy safely throughout the day.
You will own delivery reliability for teams depending on the pipelines, unblocking deployment issues quickly and keeping code flowing to production. The role balances operational excellence with project work: removing manual steps, optimizing throughput, tuning orchestration, and making the system faster and more reliable. You'll lead thoughtful change management, recognizing that delivery changes affect how every team ships, and enable other engineers through clear communication and strong design.
The team has already transformed deployment from a manual, multi-hour process to a couple of clicks, scaling from a handful of daily deployments to dozens. There's significant room to grow further. You'll use AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor) as a core part of your workflow, directing agentic tools to handle research, design, and code generation so your time focuses on thinking and design rather than hand-writing every line.
Required experience includes solid background as a senior DevOps, delivery, or platform engineer with strong Git and GitHub Actions (or equivalent CI/CD) expertise. You need good working knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipeline design, comfort with YAML and Bash scripting, familiarity with Docker and containerization, and experience with observability tools like Datadog. Experience in a monolith or large shared codebase at scale is essential—you understand the pains of one team's change affecting another and know how to navigate them. Scaling delivery at a high-growth company is a strong asset. Ruby experience is a nice-to-have but not required.
