Front is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to bridge the gap between product design and frontend engineering. You'll own and evolve Front's design system across Figma, Storybook, and production code, building reusable, accessible, well-documented UI components that product teams can confidently use. The role involves identifying and reducing design/code drift, establishing patterns and conventions that improve consistency and accessibility, and prototyping new interaction patterns to help teams align quickly.
You'll partner closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to define what great looks like for complex B2B workflows and enterprise-grade experiences. This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role with high leverage across Product, Design, and Engineering. You'll use AI tools thoughtfully to accelerate prototyping, iteration, and system maintenance while applying strong judgment to outputs.
The ideal candidate has 6+ years designing and building production frontend experiences in complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software. You need strong frontend engineering skills with modern web technologies and component-based architecture, high UI/UX craft, and experience building or maintaining component libraries, Storybook documentation, design-token pipelines, or similar design-engineering infrastructure. Strong accessibility fundamentals (semantic HTML, ARIA patterns, keyboard interaction, focus management) are essential. You should communicate technical and design-system decisions clearly to both specialists and non-specialists, and have a portfolio demonstrating shipped design-engineering impact.
Bonus experience includes working on products with large existing frontend surfaces, multiple product teams, and mature design systems; experience in customer support, collaboration software, or workflow-heavy SaaS; consolidating fragmented component libraries; and using AI-assisted coding or design tools.
