Yuno is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own the performance, availability, and scalability of production database systems. You will design, implement, and maintain backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies across PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB environments. Key responsibilities include leading database deployments and migrations with minimal downtime, providing after-hours and on-call support for critical deployments, monitoring database health and proactively resolving performance bottlenecks, and partnering with Engineering to design scalable data architectures for new features. You will establish and enforce best practices for security, access control, and data governance, and mentor other engineers on database best practices while documenting processes.
This is a remote role for someone based in Mexico, Europe, or a similar timezone that complements a Bogota-based team. You will work independently within a distributed team spanning multiple timezones.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar senior data infrastructure role
- Strong hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB in production environments
- Solid experience with backup and disaster recovery strategies, replication, and high-availability setups
- Experience supporting production deployments, including after-hours or on-call rotations
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, distributed team spanning multiple timezones
- Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills under pressure
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, written and spoken
- Based in Mexico, Europe, or a similar timezone that complements a Bogota-based team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering
