Exiger is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own the data foundation for 1Exiger, an agentic AI platform serving 60+ federal agencies and Fortune 500 enterprises on a FedRAMP High authorized platform. This role goes beyond traditional DBA work—you'll architect and operate cloud data platforms across AWS commercial, AWS GovCloud, and future IL5/IL6 air-gapped environments while building AI-native data infrastructure. Key responsibilities include architecting and optimizing Exiger's cloud data platforms; owning performance, scale, high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and multi-region strategies across transactional, analytical, and AI workloads; building and supporting AI-native data infrastructure for vector search, embeddings, RAG pipelines, inference telemetry, evaluation data, and agent memory; ensuring data security, encryption, access control, auditability, lineage, retention, and CUI handling meet FedRAMP High and federal customer requirements; partnering with security teams on POA&M remediation, vulnerability management, and continuous monitoring; driving cost optimization and modernization using FinOps principles; promoting DevOps best practices including infrastructure as code and CI/CD integration; and mentoring engineers and DBAs on scalable, compliance-ready data architecture. The technical environment includes AWS commercial and GovCloud, PostgreSQL, RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, S3, Iceberg, Trino, Athena, pgvector, OpenSearch, Terraform, Pulumi, GitLab/GitHub pipelines, and Grafana. You'll work with high-volume, regulated datasets including CUI and federal supply chain intelligence. Required qualifications: 8+ years of database administration experience with increasing ownership of cloud data architecture; deep expertise in cloud database design, performance tuning, scaling, capacity planning, cost planning, backup, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery; strong understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, encryption, access control, and audit requirements; experience supporting enterprise SaaS platforms with strict uptime, security, and compliance requirements; working knowledge of or strong interest in AI data infrastructure such as vector search, embeddings, RAG pipelines, and model telemetry; and ability to collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, AI/ML, and security teams. Preferred qualifications include experience with FedRAMP, StateRAMP, IL4+, NIST 800-53, or federal compliance environments.
