Voyager Technologies is a space, defense, and national security technology company seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement enterprise data workflows, integrations, and pipelines connecting manufacturing, ERP, PLM, MES, and quality systems into a governed data ecosystem. This role is critical to enabling end-to-end traceability, operational visibility, and regulatory compliance across multi-site manufacturing operations.
As a senior individual contributor with high organizational visibility, you will work across engineering, operations, IT, and compliance teams to translate manufacturing requirements into data integration solutions. Key responsibilities include:
**Enterprise System Integration:** Design, build, and maintain data integration workflows connecting MES (Apriso/Delmia), ERP (NetSuite), PLM (3DX), and supporting platforms. Develop API-based, event-driven, and batch integration patterns across cloud and on-premises systems. Partner with implementation teams on integration design and support multi-site rollout strategies with reusable templates.
**Manufacturing Data Workflows & Traceability:** Design workflows supporting grain-level and sublot traceability across the manufacturing lifecycle. Build pipelines enforcing compliance checkpoints including pot life hard stops, e-signature requirements, and hold point validations. Integrate with LIMS systems for quality data capture and support automated generation of regulatory documents.
**Data Pipeline Development & Architecture:** Build scalable ELT/ETL pipelines for operational, analytical, and compliance reporting. Architect data flows with full lineage, observability, and auditability. Implement data quality frameworks including validation rules and SLA monitoring. Define data models and integration standards using medallion architecture patterns.
**Compliance & Regulatory Support:** Ensure all workflows support AS9100, DCMA, ATF, ITAR/EAR standards. Build audit-ready data trails and evidence packages. Partner with compliance and cybersecurity teams on data handling controls. Enforce CUI data classification across integrated systems.
**Cloud & Infrastructure:** Administer Azure Government and AWS GovCloud services. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for integration artifacts. Write automation scripts in Python and PowerShell. Monitor integration health and implement proactive alerting.
**Collaboration & Mentorship:** Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders. Create thorough documentation for integration designs and data dictionaries. Serve as technical resource and mentor for junior engineers.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience with certifications)
- 12-15+ years of data engineering or enterprise integration experience, with significant time in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Demonstrated hands-on experience integrating MES and ERP platforms in production manufacturing settings
- Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments (aerospace, defense, ATF-licensed, or equivalent)
- Proven ability to deliver complex, multi-system integration projects from design through production go-live
- Experience supporting multi-site technology rollouts strongly preferred
- Security clearance preferred; U.S. Person required as defined under ITAR/EAR
**Technical Skills Required:**
- MES platforms: Apriso (Delmia), production execution, material management, traceability
- ERP: NetSuite manufacturing, inventory, procurement integration
- PLM: 3DX (Dassault Systems) product lifecycle and BOM integration
- ETL/ELT tools: Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow, dbt, or equivalent
- API integration: REST, SOAP, GraphQL, OData; MES and ERP vendor APIs
- Event-driven integration: Azure Event Hubs, Service Bus, Kafka
- iPaaS/middleware: Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi
- Cloud platforms: Azure Government (Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, Functions, Monitor) and AWS GovCloud (S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, RDS)
- Programming languages: Python, PowerShell, T-SQL, Spark SQL, PySpark (required)
- Data modeling: Relational, dimensional, star/snowflake schema, medallion architecture
- DevOps: Git, CI/CD (Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions), IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep)
- Industrial systems: PLC/SCADA integration, OPC-UA, historian databases (OSIsoft PI)
- Automated traceability systems: barcode, RFID, vision system data ingestion
**Preferred Certifications:**
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
- AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty

- Ability to operate at intersection of manufacturing operations and data engineering
- Strong communicator across technical and non-technical audiences
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits
- Self-directed and proactive in regulated environments
- Collaborative across IT, engineering, quality, compliance, and external partners
