As a Senior Data Engineer on the Research Engineering Team, you will design, build, and scale the data infrastructure powering Cyera's data classification engine and AI security platform. You'll work at the intersection of data engineering and machine learning, collaborating closely with researchers and data scientists to deliver high-quality datasets that accelerate model development and experimentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and building scalable batch and streaming data pipelines that process complex, diverse datasets for reliable model training and inference
- Leading large-scale historical backfills and data migration initiatives to ensure consistency and integrity across evolving platforms
- Optimizing data workflows through query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and cost optimization to support efficient large-scale analytics
- Architecting and maintaining high-performance cloud-based data platforms using modern data stack components on AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Operating distributed data processing engines to handle massive volumes of structured and unstructured data
- Designing event-driven architectures using Kafka, SQS, and other large-scale queue systems for reliable data movement
- Developing automated monitoring and validation systems to guarantee uptime, schema compatibility, and pipeline reliability
- Deploying and managing data infrastructure in Kubernetes-based containerized environments
