Relativity Space is building the Terran R rocket to deliver payloads to orbit and meet growing commercial launch demand. The Factory Test team designs, builds, and operates test infrastructure at the Long Beach headquarters to validate nearly every component of the rocket, with test stands capable of handling millions of pounds of force. As a Senior Data and Control Systems Hardware Engineer, you will design, build, and integrate data acquisition and control systems for the company's test facilities. You'll work on low-voltage control and instrumentation systems that can be operated by non-electrical engineers, as well as high-voltage and specialized applications where you'll design complete solutions and train operators. The role is hands-on: you'll work directly with technician teams to build, integrate, and debug hardware in the field. Your projects will span diverse applications including motion control systems, AC/DC power distribution, wiring harnesses, portable data acquisition systems, PCBs (with focus on signal routing and power management), and motor/pump control cabinets. You'll lead multiple projects in parallel, gaining broad technical exposure across the product lifecycle without requiring prior aerospace experience. The team emphasizes multidisciplinary work, so you'll have frequent opportunities to branch into operations and test planning. You'll help shape and scale the test infrastructure to support a rapidly growing launch program. This is an early-stage opportunity where your technical decisions and leadership will have visible, immediate impact on the company's ability to test and validate its rocket systems.
