You will join the Business Enablement & Insights function as a Senior Data Analyst, focusing on Sales, Marketing, and growth analytics. This role is central to understanding and optimizing Hippo's customer acquisition and retention engine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain reliable views of the customer funnel across marketing spend, leads, quotes, applications, binds, premium, and conversion metrics
- Analyze funnel performance to identify where customers drop out and determine root causes (lead quality, channel mix, pricing, sales activity, customer experience, etc.)
- Evaluate marketing channel performance across CPL, CAC, CPB, conversion, lead quality, and premium to inform investment decisions
- Support customer and market segmentation by analyzing customer, home, geographic, channel, and conversion characteristics
- Partner with Marketing and Data Science on experimentation design, including hypotheses, success metrics, guardrails, sample-size requirements, and post-test analysis
- Support forecasting and annual operating plan (AOP) planning through scenario modeling across marketing spend, conversion, CAC, premium, capacity, and market expansion
- Develop state- and market-level performance analysis to support product launch sequencing and measure performance as new initiatives expand
- Monitor post-launch performance and proactively identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities
- Partner with Data Engineering to improve attribution, tracking, data quality, and integration across Salesforce, marketing platforms, product analytics, and policy data systems
- Transition recurring manual analyses into scalable datasets, dashboards, and monitoring processes
- Develop executive-ready insights and recommendations that explain what happened, why, and what action should be taken
- Provide analytical support across the broader Sales & Marketing portfolio as priorities evolve
You will report to the Senior Manager, Insurance Analytics and work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams. This role goes beyond reporting—you will diagnose performance changes, support experimentation, and translate findings into clear business recommendations.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in business analytics, growth analytics, marketing analytics, strategy, or related field
- Strong SQL, Excel, and data visualization skills; Tableau experience preferred
- Experience analyzing customer or marketing funnels, conversion performance, customer acquisition, or related growth metrics
- Experience working with multiple data sources and identifying data quality, attribution, or measurement issues
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with ability to move from performance trend to root-cause analysis and recommendation
- Experience with forecasting, scenario modeling, or business planning
- Ability to translate complex analysis into clear and actionable insights for senior stakeholders
- Strong communication and cross-functional partnership skills
- Proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of ambiguous analytical problems
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
Nice to Have:
- Experience in insurance, insurtech, financial services, or another highly regulated industry
- Experience with marketing attribution, digital marketing analytics, or experimentation
- Familiarity with customer segmentation, LTV, retention, or predictive modeling concepts
- Experience supporting a new product launch or geographic expansion
