Salary: USD 140,000 - 160,000 / annual

Bobyard is a Series A construction-tech company backed by 8VC, Primary, and Pear. The company uses AI to automate construction takeoffs and estimates, helping contractors complete bids 10x faster. Revenue is doubling quarter over quarter. As the first data hire, you will architect and own the company-wide data strategy and infrastructure. You will design, build, and maintain the central data warehouse and scalable ELT/ETL pipelines across internal systems. Your responsibilities include: - Architect, scale, and maintain the central data warehouse and ELT/ETL pipelines - Design robust data models and transformation layers to convert raw operational data into clean, production-ready datasets - Establish, document, and standardize core business metrics and KPIs across the organization - Deliver executive- and operational-level reporting, performance tracking, and analytical models for leadership - Develop intuitive BI dashboards and self-service analytics tools for teams across operations, product, and strategy - Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify analytical needs and answer strategic business questions - Write clean, efficient, well-tested SQL and code to automate ingestion, data quality monitoring, and reporting - Implement automated data validation, quality assurance tests, and governance practices as the data ecosystem matures You will work closely with the CEO and cross-functional leadership, with visibility into high-impact work. The role is based on-site in San Francisco at 101 Second Street. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years in analytics, analytics engineering, or business intelligence - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or related quantitative field - Advanced SQL and hands-on data modeling with dbt or equivalent transformation framework - Python for ETL/ELT work (API pulls, scripts, scheduled jobs) - Experience building a data warehouse and its pipelines from scratch at a company under a few hundred people - Real fluency in B2B revenue funnel (understanding pipeline, CAC, net revenue retention and their drivers) - Ability to define a metric, defend the definition, and get a sales leader to adopt it NICE TO HAVE: - BigQuery or GCP data stack experience - HubSpot as a source system - Experience building financial or data controls, or supporting SOC 2 audit - Prior experience as first data hire at another company
