Indico Data is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to lead technical security initiatives across the organization. This is a hands-on role responsible for improving security posture across AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, product security, internal systems, and incident response.
You will work in partnership with Indico's CISO and CTO, translating security strategy into practical technical controls, security reviews, and operating processes. The role acts as a security check and balance for Engineering and Platform teams, reviewing technical work against defined security expectations and helping teams build secure systems without unnecessary friction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Improve technical security posture across AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, product security, internal systems, and incident response
- Partner with CISO and CTO to turn security priorities into practical technical controls and standards
- Review Engineering work against security standards with authority to request changes
- Partner on AWS security controls including IAM, networking, account structure, logging, encryption, key management, and production access
- Review and improve Kubernetes and container security controls including workload identity, RBAC, network boundaries, image security, and runtime monitoring
- Define and improve secure CI/CD patterns including GitHub permissions, branch protections, secrets handling, and deployment access
- Define and oversee vulnerability management, incident response, and access control processes
- Provide product security support including secure design review and threat modeling
- Improve detection and response coverage across CloudTrail, GuardDuty, CrowdStrike, SIEM platforms, and vulnerability scanners
- Own day-to-day security monitoring and response operations
- Coordinate technical containment during security incidents
- Maintain incident response runbooks and security documentation
- Create practical security guidance, standards, and procedures
- Evaluate security tools and vendors
- Build automation and workflows to make security controls repeatable
You are a pragmatic technical security generalist with strong cloud security instincts, comfortable working across AWS, Kubernetes, IAM, networking, secrets management, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response. You are technical enough to earn credibility with Engineering teams, independent enough to act as a real check and balance, and practical enough to focus on controls that reduce meaningful risk.
