FourKites is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer (Forward Deployed Engineer) to own complex technical customer relationships end-to-end. You will serve as the primary technical contact for 2–4 major enterprise accounts, running discovery independently, designing integration and agentic AI workflow architectures for complex supply chain problems, and deploying solutions live with customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own integration and AI agent implementations from technical discovery through go-live and post-launch enhancement
- Design resilient integration architectures with attention to error handling, retry logic, observability, and multi-system authentication
- Design and deploy agentic AI workflows that orchestrate supply chain operations, including regression testing and validation before customer deployment
- Deploy AI workflows live with customers present, configuring and troubleshooting during customer calls
- Run customer discovery sessions independently, proposing technically credible and innovative solutions on the spot
- Use Claude, OpenAI, and other LLMs across the entire workflow—from requirements capture through code generation, testing, and deployment
- Represent FourKites technically during presales engagements, articulating integration architecture and agentic workflow capabilities to enterprise prospects
- Perform code reviews on integration and AI workflow work from junior FDEs and enforce quality standards
- Mentor junior Forward Deployed Engineers on hard problems and take accountability for their growth
- Identify reusable integration patterns and AI workflow templates and formalize them for team library
- Collaborate with Implementation Managers, Customer Success Managers, Solutions Consultants, Product Managers, and Engineering teams
Required qualifications:
- 6–9 years of software engineering experience with meaningful depth in integration engineering, system design, or customer-facing technical roles
- Strong proficiency in Java (required) and one or more of Python or Ruby
- Strong foundations in data structures and algorithms; ability to design systems that perform at scale
- Strong software design skills; ability to architect modular, resilient, observable systems
- Ability to write optimized, production-grade code at speed and compress build cycles without compromising quality
- Deep expertise in enterprise integration patterns and multi-system architecture
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying agentic AI workflows end-to-end using LangGraph or equivalent
- Proficiency using Claude, OpenAI, or equivalent LLMs across the full development workflow
- Innovative problem-solving approach to complex integration and AI challenges
