Salary: USD 225,000 - 245,000 / annual

Pomelo Care is a virtual medical practice specializing in women's and children's healthcare, including pregnancy, postpartum, pediatrics, menopause, and perimenopause care. The company combines 24/7 clinical care with technology to identify risks early and deliver personalized care nationwide. You will serve as Senior Corporate Counsel, Regulatory, reporting to the Associate General Counsel for Healthcare & Technology. Your primary responsibility is to deliver healthcare regulatory guidance that enables Pomelo's business growth and operations. You will work collaboratively with the legal and compliance team and business leaders across the organization to navigate complex healthcare regulations. Key responsibilities include: - Advising on federal and state regulations governing virtual care delivery and payment - Supporting clinical service launches in new states - Partnering with clinical leadership on clinical model design - Providing pragmatic, business-forward legal guidance that right-sizes risk and translates complex regulations into actionable recommendations - Managing cross-functional projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment - Communicating complex legal concepts in plain language to non-lawyer stakeholders The role offers the opportunity to work on mission-driven healthcare innovation at a well-funded startup with significant growth potential. REQUIREMENTS: - JD from an ABA-accredited law school and active license to practice in at least one state - Minimum 7 years of legal experience - Required: in-house experience at a healthcare company - Strongly preferred: startup or high-growth company experience - Deep expertise in federal and state virtual care regulations, including: professional licensure, scope of practice and supervision requirements, telehealth rules, CPOM and MSO/PC structures, Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), False Claims Act (FCA) and other fraud and abuse laws, healthcare marketing and patient communications rules, and Medicaid reimbursement - Experience with ERISA, group health plan design, and plan-side requirements for health plan and employer partnerships - Demonstrated experience supporting virtual-first or telehealth providers, including launching clinical services in new states - Pragmatic, business-forward approach to legal problem-solving - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Meticulous attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity - Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
