Re:Build Optimation, part of Re:Build Manufacturing, is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design and deliver custom-engineered process control and automation systems for industrial clients globally. With nearly 40 years of experience in complex chemical process systems, the company operates a 150,000 sq ft fabrication facility with 70+ engineers and 150+ skilled tradespeople. In this role, you will partner with customers, project managers, and internal teams to define project requirements and deliver seamless automation solutions. Key responsibilities include designing electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial process control; specifying and integrating field instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, level sensors); selecting intrinsically safe components for hazardous environments; developing bills of materials and managing procurement; ensuring designs meet industry standards and safety protocols; creating project estimates; conducting site acceptance tests; and supporting equipment installation and commissioning. You will work across diverse industries including traditional and green energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, glass, and advanced manufacturing. The role requires strong project management skills to maintain scope, schedule, and budget, as well as the ability to influence and collaborate across departments without direct authority. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering and instrumentation within industrial automation or manufacturing; proficiency in industrial control systems, instrumentation, and hazardous area design; experience with intrinsically safe equipment specification; background in process environments (chemical, glass, food, pharmaceutical); project estimation experience; strong leadership and interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication; strong problem-solving and analytical abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively; and availability for on-site work in Rochester, NY.
