ClickHouse, a Forbes Cloud 100 company and leader in real-time analytics and data warehousing, is seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer to join its Support Services team. The role blends hands-on engineering, development assistance, and high-tier customer support, serving strategic enterprise customers globally.
You will split your time between project engineering and consultative support. On the project side (50%), you'll serve as a team member on customer implementations, handling design, architecture, integration, performance testing, benchmarking, reference architectures, sizing, migrations, and tooling development. On the support side (50%), you'll provide case-initiated consultative support to strategic customers and prospects, assisting with implementations, onboarding, production launches, and proof-of-concepts. You'll also handle L1–L3 support cases when not actively assigned to larger projects.
Key responsibilities include providing architectural and technical guidance, working closely with Product Management and Engineering to inform the roadmap, developing documentation and knowledge base content, mentoring new team members as the team scales, and supporting a 24/7 global operation with up to 35% regional travel.
You'll need 5+ years in Professional Services, Support, Technical Account Management, Engineering/SRE, or Project Management, plus 5+ years implementing or operating scalable distributed database management systems. Strong technical breadth in DBMS, OLAP, Cloud/SaaS, distributed systems, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, and big data is essential. Experience leading large-scope technical projects with multiple engineers is required.
