Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Components Engineer to provide technical leadership in parts selection, management, creation, and quality control for high-technology space and defense programs. This role spans all phases of product development from proposals through design and production support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop component requirements and lead the parts selection process
- Manage component obsolescence and counterfeit parts prevention, guiding teams in a lean environment
- Coordinate with design, manufacturing, project, and quality engineering teams to ensure adherence to design requirements
- Drive part standardization by recommending reuse of existing parts in the database
- Maintain ECAD library and manage new parts introduction
- Review Product Change Notices (PCNs) and GIDEP (Government-Industry Data Exchange Program) alerts for component impact
- Manage part number and data management systems
- Work with component manufacturers and distributors on product roadmaps
- Support supply chain, quality, and reliability engineering initiatives
The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical expertise combined with leadership capability. This is a mission-critical role supporting defense, national security, and space technology initiatives. The position requires proven experience in counterfeit parts management and obsolescence management, with the ability to mentor and guide engineering teams.
