CesiumAstro is developing advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. The company is designing, building, and launching 8 new large-capability RF payload rideshare SmallSats over the next four years with secured launches and built-in-house test facilities.
As a Senior Communication Systems Engineer, you will own the end-to-end design, configuration, and operation of satellite space-to-ground communication links. Your responsibilities include defining how satellites communicate with ground stations in both nominal and off-nominal conditions, ensuring reliable command and telemetry transmission, and implementing fault recovery mechanisms.
You will serve as a critical systems thinker who coordinates activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams. The role requires deep expertise in systems engineering, space-based communication payloads, and ground terminal design. You will have the opportunity to iterate and improve your designs as the company scales rapidly, taking ownership of mission-critical communications architecture.
The ideal candidate brings proven experience in satellite communications systems, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a hands-on problem-solving approach. This is a builder's role in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your work directly impacts operational satellite systems.
