CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Communication Systems Engineer to join its team developing cutting-edge communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic startup environment focused on phased array technology for aerospace applications.
In this position, you will serve as a technical point of contact for communication programs and take ownership of system-level engineering activities. Key responsibilities include developing space architecture concepts, designing sub-systems and payloads, establishing requirements, performing analysis and decomposition, designing high-level software and hardware system architectures, developing concepts of operations (CONOPS), and conducting risk assessments.
You will coordinate across multidisciplinary engineering teams, escalate program-level issues, and drive complex programs to successful completion. The ideal candidate brings strong system engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience in space technology, and the ability to work autonomously within a collaborative environment.
This role requires a U.S. citizen or eligible individual per ITAR/export control regulations. The position is based in Austin, TX, offering the opportunity to work on next-generation aerospace communication technology in a forward-thinking startup culture.
