ClickHouse, a Forbes Cloud 100 company and leader in real-time analytics and data warehousing, is seeking a Senior Cloud Software Engineer to join the Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team. The team builds and manages the foundational infrastructure of ClickHouse Cloud, including compute, networking, security, and multi-cloud, multi-region architecture.
In this role, you will architect and build robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure. You'll design cutting-edge cloud-native platforms on top of public cloud providers and automate cloud resource management. Key responsibilities include executing high-impact infrastructure optimization initiatives across compute, storage, and networking; collaborating with ClickHouse engineering teams to develop high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective SaaS solutions; and systematically optimizing cost efficiency through distributed systems and industry best practices.
You'll partner with business stakeholders to design tooling for cost efficiency insights and lead large-scope technical projects in collaboration with experienced engineers.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems. Proficiency in Go, C/C++, Java, or similar OOP languages. Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes, and cloud-native services with Envoy and Istio. Strong understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles (VPNs, firewalls, load balancers). Knowledge of cloud security best practices including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards (SOC2, GDPR). Excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and production debugging expertise.
