Salary: USD 187,000 - 220,000 / annual
Robinhood is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join its Cloud Security team, which is responsible for protecting the company's AWS cloud infrastructure and providing foundational security capabilities to engineers across the organization. This role focuses on implementing least-privilege access controls, managing network traffic, and reducing security risks through escalation prevention.
As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be a deep subject matter expert in cloud security and AWS, responsible for building and operating solutions that protect foundational infrastructure while making it easier for Robinhood developers to secure their applications. You will own significant portions of the company's cloud security posture, designing systems with a safety-first approach and creating intuitive capabilities that serve as secure defaults for the broader engineering organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and operating security solutions that protect Robinhood's AWS cloud environment
- Developing software, services, and automation that provide safe defaults and paved roads for developers
- Configuring and setting up systems with enterprise-grade security practices
- Collaborating with engineering teams to embed security into foundational infrastructure
- Implementing and maintaining AWS security services including IAM, Service Control Policies, AWS WAF, and AWS Network Firewall
You should bring strong proficiency in Golang (preferred) or Python, Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, and expert-level knowledge of AWS security best practices including the AWS Well-Architected Framework and CIS Benchmarks. This is an individual contributor role where you will be recognized as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on cloud security architecture and implementation.
The role is based in Bellevue, WA; Menlo Park, CA; or New York, NY, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
