Rescale is a digital engineering platform transforming product development through intelligent automation, applied AI, data management, and integration of engineering and R&D applications. The company serves aerospace, energy, life sciences, and manufacturing industries.
As Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you'll secure Rescale's cloud infrastructure, identity systems, and internal tooling. This is a hands-on technical role requiring you to write Terraform, query logs, and design IAM policies rather than purely review others' work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and harden cloud infrastructure and identity systems across AWS, Okta, and GitHub Enterprise
- Build and maintain security automation and detection pipelines
- Evaluate and secure AI-assisted and agentic tools used internally (e.g., Claude Code, MCP servers, LLM-driven automation)
- Investigate and respond to security findings including authentication anomalies, access log review, and data queries via Athena, CloudTrail Lake, or Superset
- Contribute Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) for security controls, identity provisioning, and compliance configuration
- Support secure network and cloud deployment designs for enterprise customer environments
- Research emerging cloud-native and AI security capabilities and translate findings into practical controls
- Write internal documentation, runbooks, and playbooks to scale security practices
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years cloud-native security or DevSecOps experience
- 3+ years Bash or Python experience
- Deep hands-on experience with major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI)
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and identity/access management platform experience (Okta, Azure AD)
- Real exposure to OAuth/token architecture, AI/LLM-assisted tooling security, or agentic workflow design
- Solid understanding of operating systems and networking fundamentals
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience preferred but not required
