As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will own the security of AlphaSense's cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP. This is a hands-on, high-autonomy role where you design, develop, and automate security controls end-to-end—from identifying problems to shipping and operating controls with measurable outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and automate security controls for cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
- Maintain and scale cloud security tooling (CSPM, vulnerability platforms)
- Investigate and remediate cloud security vulnerabilities
- Design access controls and zero-trust architectures for cloud and Kubernetes
- Partner with incident response to build detections and mitigate incidents
- Develop security standards and embed them into CI/CD and GitOps workflows
- Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR
- Conduct architecture reviews, threat modeling, and code reviews
- Lead security projects independently with cross-functional teams
Required qualifications: 5+ years in cloud security or security-focused infrastructure/DevOps; hands-on Kubernetes and containerized environment experience; strong AWS knowledge (GCP a plus); infrastructure-as-code proficiency; scripting/programming (Python preferred); cloud security posture management experience; self-starter mentality with end-to-end ownership.
Nice-to-have: multi-cloud experience, CI/CD security integration, threat modeling expertise, compliance-to-controls translation, open-source contributions, security certifications (CKS).
