As a Senior Cloud Network Engineer on the Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining Airwallex's globally distributed network infrastructure. You'll design and deploy the company's cloud footprint across multiple regions and data centers, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for financial solutions that must be always-on.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build the foundations of the new corporate network, including team structure planning
- Maintain and deploy global cloud infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, Cloud) across multiple data centers and cloud regions
- Configure and manage on-premises networking hardware globally across mixed vendors (Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, Aruba)
- Manage international leased lines and domestic internet connectivity
- Own configuration and troubleshooting of complex network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
- Act as first responder for critical network incidents, driving resolution and post-action reviews
- Collaborate cross-functionally with security, engineering, product, and IT teams
- Develop comprehensive network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
- Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies
- Participate in global on-call rotation for production support
- Support pre-scheduled network upgrades with flexible scheduling as needed
You must have CCNP/JNCIP-level networking expertise with demonstrated experience in multi-vendor environments at global scale. Strong foundation in scripting (Python, Bash), infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Git CI/CD), and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP). Deep understanding of BGP, route filtering, and command-line configuration across JunOS and IOS. Preferred qualifications include Linux expertise, fintech experience, IPSEC VPN knowledge, and a builder mindset.
