Graphcore is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to build and operate the private cloud platform that delivers Graphcore AI systems to internal teams and customers. In this hands-on role, you will develop reliable, deployed cloud services that support large-scale AI infrastructure built from Graphcore hardware, high-performance servers, networks, and storage. Your work will enable engineers to validate, benchmark, and optimize advanced AI compute platforms.
You will use Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and automation to deploy, test, and improve cloud infrastructure. You'll collaborate with datacentre operations, software platform, and product development teams to maintain critical system performance. This role involves working with pre-release hardware and software where technical judgment and execution pace are essential.
The Cloud Platform Team operates as a close-knit group moving from requirements to deployed services, with engineers maintaining direct relationships with the users and systems they support. You will work independently on hard platform problems while keeping services available and reliable.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field. You need solid software engineering or IT experience with proven delivery as an individual contributor. Experience managing on-premises or private-cloud environments is essential. Strong Linux scripting and system administration skills across bash, Python, awk, sed, Ubuntu, and RHEL variants are required. You should have hands-on experience with Git, CI pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, or Packer.
This is a technical individual contributor role suited for engineers who take responsibility, communicate clearly, and move quickly. You will be trusted to work independently, solve complex infrastructure challenges, and maintain service reliability.
