As a Senior Cloud Engineer on the Agentic Infrastructure team, you'll architect and evolve the cloud foundation that enables Handshake's engineering teams to ship safely and confidently. This is not a "keep the lights on" role—you'll design systems, codify best practices, and drive the organization toward intelligent, automated infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting and managing scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure across production and development environments
- Defining and enforcing best practices for cloud deployments using modern tooling
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Buildkite) and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD)
- Owning Infrastructure as Code practices with Terraform, Crossplane, or similar tools
- Driving platform improvements that reduce developer toil and increase velocity
- Exploring AI-driven approaches to infrastructure automation, observability, and incident response
- Partnering with engineering teams on cloud-native system design
- Mentoring engineers across the organization on cloud best practices
Required experience: deep hands-on production experience with GCP (strongly preferred), AWS, or Azure; strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Crossplane); fluency with modern CI/CD tooling and GitOps mindset; experience designing container-based and Kubernetes-native architectures; genuine curiosity about applying AI and automation to infrastructure; strong communication skills; collaborative spirit with bias toward documentation and standards.
Bonus qualifications include FinOps practices, platform engineering or developer experience background, cloud security practices, and service mesh architecture experience.
