Adyen is seeking a Senior CI/CD Engineer to join the In-Person-Payments Tooling team in Chicago. This role focuses on designing and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure for Android and iOS mobile applications, serving as the critical bridge between code development and deployment.
You will design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Gradle, KMP, Develocity, and Android Native Plugin. Key responsibilities include automating build processes for multiple variants and configurations, configuring build caching and optimization to reduce build times, implementing code quality checks and security scanning, setting up device farms and emulators for automated testing, and integrating monitoring and alerting systems for tooling health.
The role requires 5+ years of DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering experience. You should have a foundational understanding of either Android (Gradle/Kotlin) or iOS (Xcode/Swift) development and be eager to become expert in both. An analytical problem-solving approach is essential—you'll dive into build logs to identify root causes and have a natural inclination to automate repetitive tasks using Python, Bash, or Kotlin Script.
You'll work autonomously on complex infrastructure challenges while collaborating closely with mobile developers and infrastructure teams managing Kubernetes clusters, Hashicorp stack, and private cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate understands that robust CI/CD pipelines are the first line of defense for code quality and stability.
Nice-to-have skills include advanced Linux and systems administration, Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Puppet), experience with alternative CI platforms (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitrise), device farm and monitoring configuration, Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) familiarity, and Xcode CLI expertise.
