Saronic Technologies is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead sourcing, procurement, and supplier management for the production and delivery of autonomous surface vessels for the Department of Defense. This role is central to ensuring the company's supply chain operates efficiently while meeting the stringent quality and compliance requirements of defense contracting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring their performance against quality, cost, and delivery metrics, and addressing issues promptly
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability; continuously diversify the supply base
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost-effective agreements without compromising quality
- Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify savings opportunities and improve supply chain efficiency
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with engineering, production, and logistics to maintain adequate stock while minimizing excess
- Proactively identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with government regulations and industry standards, particularly those governing defense contracts (FAR, DFAR)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and logistics teams to align on project goals and timelines
- Drive process improvements to enhance procurement and supply chain effectiveness

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
- Proven experience in procurement and supplier management, preferably in defense or maritime industries
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with government procurement regulations (FAR, DFAR) is a plus
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools
- U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, green card holder, or protected asylee/refugee as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b)
