Maki People is seeking a Senior Business Psychologist to join its Science team, which drives innovation in hiring through rigorous assessment design, validation, and AI integration. You will be a key contributor to developing and refining the company's assessment platform, working at the intersection of industrial-organizational psychology, psychometrics, and AI ethics. Key Responsibilities: - Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the assessment lifecycle, from initial needs analysis through results interpretation and workforce optimization strategy. - Apply psychological theories and I/O methodologies to improve assessment and selection procedures, ensuring they predict performance and potential with precision. - Conduct research and analysis to identify psychological factors and competencies relevant to various job roles and industries. - Design custom assessments and competency frameworks tailored to client needs while adhering to psychometric standards. - Ensure the test bank is diverse, inclusive, and covers core competencies aligned with the future of work. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Onboarding, Customer Success, Psychometricians, AI Scientists, and Assessment Operations to deliver high-quality, scalable assessments. - Communicate validation studies and statistical insights clearly to non-technical audiences, translating complex psychometric concepts into actionable business language. - Serve as an external-facing expert, presenting to stakeholders on how AI technologies are integrated into assessments, emphasizing purpose, functionality, and impact. - Ensure test development and AI-driven hiring systems meet the highest ethical and compliance standards. - Train internal teams on psychological best practices in talent acquisition. - Stay current with I/O psychology and AI research, applying emerging insights to product development. - Contribute expert input to client proposals, ensuring scientific rigor and innovation are effectively communicated. - Represent Maki at industry conferences, presenting actionable insights that bridge scientific rigor with practical business applications. Requirements: - Proven experience in job analysis and developing competency frameworks for clients. - Excellent understanding of AI applications in assessments and automated scoring systems. - Strong knowledge of ethical considerations and compliance standards in assessment development, particularly those integrating AI technologies. - Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences and advocate for evidence-based approaches in business discussions. - Expert-level knowledge in assessment design, validation studies, and psychometric methods. - Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills for collaboration with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders. - Advanced research skills to design and execute studies that drive innovative solutions and thought leadership. - Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to quality and timely delivery. - Familiarity with industry-specific challenges and trends to customize assessments across sectors and roles. - Strong writing skills for technical reports, white papers, and client-facing materials. - Experience with data analysis or programming tools (SPSS, JASP, Mplus, R, Python) for psychometric analysis and research. - Strong knowledge of test content creation and review processes. - Expertise in assessment design and item-writing best practices, with focus on cultural fairness and bias minimization. - Comfort with public speaking and presenting findings at conferences, webinars, and client meetings. - Awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles applied to fair and unbiased hiring assessments.
