Muon Space, a LEO satellite constellation provider founded in 2021, seeks a Senior Business Development Manager to drive commercial and civil space growth. This role owns the end-to-end business capture process—from customer discovery and lead generation through deal qualification and closure—across market segments including remote sensing, commercial satcom, and next-generation orbital infrastructure. Key responsibilities include leading customer discovery and lead generation to identify new opportunities; collaborating with Mission Engineering and Product teams to deliver integrated solutions; managing active pipeline opportunities and facilitating deal velocity through cross-functional collaboration; implementing qualification criteria and pricing frameworks to reduce friction in pursuit review; delivering market sizing reports and customer insights for emerging verticals; and overseeing deal closure with seamless transition to execution. Required qualifications: 5+ years of technical experience in aerospace (engineering, technical sales, or solutioning); 7+ years of direct business development and/or sales experience; full lifecycle BD experience (lead generation through proposal management); proven track record managing complex external relationships across pre-sales and execution; strong interpersonal and cross-organizational communication skills; Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field; U.S. Person status (ITAR/EAR compliance). Nice-to-have: CRM and pipeline management expertise in high-growth environments; direct experience selling satellites or mission systems with remote sensing or satcom knowledge; Master's degree; active U.S. security clearance; proximity to Northern Virginia office for frequent in-person collaboration. Compensation: Base salary $135,000–$161,000; on-target earnings $270,000–$320,000 (base + target commission at 100% quota attainment); uncapped commission structure; competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, disability, life insurance, three weeks paid vacation, 12 paid holidays, unlimited sick time, paid parental leave).
