Relativity Space is building Terran R, a commercial launch vehicle designed to deliver payloads to orbit. The Reliability team embeds quality assurance throughout the design and production lifecycle, working closely with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams to balance speed with safety as the program scales from development into production. As a Senior Build Reliability Engineer focused on Propulsion, you will own critical reliability functions across multiple domains: **Design & Configuration:** Standardize drawings, conduct design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews, and manage configuration control to ensure propulsion systems meet reliability requirements. **Planning & Process:** Review work instructions, develop manufacturing processes, and document standard rework and repair procedures for propulsion components. **Manufacturing & Verification:** Oversee in-process build verification, coordinate traveled work, and ensure manufacturing processes maintain quality standards throughout production. **Testing & Launch:** Collaborate on test protocols and launch readiness to validate propulsion system reliability under operational conditions. You will work at the intersection of engineering rigor and rapid iteration, helping establish scalable quality systems that don't compromise on speed. This role requires deep technical expertise in propulsion systems, reliability engineering principles, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. You'll have autonomy to shape processes, identify risks proactively, and drive decisions that impact the Terran R program's success. This is an opportunity to join a venture-backed aerospace company at a pivotal moment—early enough to define culture and processes, but far enough along that hardware is tangible and momentum is building.
