Salary: USD 140,000 - 180,000 / annual
Amca is building America's new industrial base by rapidly developing and manufacturing critical components and subsystems for aviation and military platforms. The company operates seven factories nationwide and delivers avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components for platforms including the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, A321, Mk-48, and M1 Abrams.
As a Senior Build Engineer, you will own the prototyping and first builds of new hardware designs, taking product designs from concept to manufacturing reality. You will work concurrently with Design and Test Engineering teams to understand end-use applications, challenge requirements, and ensure designs are manufacturable at production scale.
Key responsibilities include: owning prototyping and first builds of new hardware; collaborating with Design Engineering to understand applications and provide manufacturability feedback; taking full ownership of manufacturing and build processes for new products; prototyping components with manufacturability, integration, and performance as core constraints; assisting Test Engineering with test tooling creation; managing tooling configurations and documentation per aerospace standards; providing continuous optimization feedback for reliability and cost; supporting internal shop build and manufacturing processes; evaluating equipment selection and onboarding; serving as subject matter expert for manufacturing processes; supporting factory diligence and company development; evaluating product catalogs for expansion opportunities; and working cross-functionally to expand manufacturing capabilities.
You should be exceptionally curious and a fast learner, able to contribute across diverse part categories and manufacturing processes. You must demonstrate ability to use engineering first principles to challenge and simplify requirements, be hands-on and practical with real-world building and troubleshooting, and thrive with ownership and minimal oversight. Experience with mechanical design, manufacturing processes, structural/thermal/material constraints, CAD, PLM/PDM systems, GD&T, and Materials & Processing is required. ITAR compliance required—must be a U.S. person.
