Vanta is a Series D security and compliance platform helping businesses earn and prove trust through continuous security monitoring and verification. The Integrations Platform team powers Vanta's trust automation ecosystem, managing over 400 integrations across cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), identity providers, MDM, and HRIS systems.
As a Senior Backend Software Engineer on the Integrations Platform, you'll set technical strategy for critical platform areas, design and evolve APIs and primitives that internal teams, partners, and customers build upon, and own authentication, data-ingestion, and schema-evolution systems that keep integrations secure and reliable at scale. You'll build secure, well-documented, scalable backend services and developer tooling (including CI/CD) that drive engineering productivity, drive performance and operational excellence, and mentor teammates while establishing design patterns the team standardizes on.
You'll work with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, leveraging AI tools to accelerate development. The role requires 8+ years of backend development experience building reliable, fault-tolerant systems. You should have deep expertise in platform and API design (RESTful APIs, GraphQL, OAuth, JWT, security best practices), data integrations from external systems, systems thinking at scale, and technical leadership with cross-team influence. Experience building sample integrations, POCs, documentation, and workshops to enable internal teams is valued. Bonus experience includes startup environments, greenfield work, multi-region deployments, and security/compliance product backgrounds.
