Fireblocks is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Liquidity Team in Tel Aviv. The Liquidity Team develops Fireblocks' trading solutions, delivering reliable, seamless, fast, and secure trading experiences for users in both crypto and fiat assets.
In this role, you will be a leading backend developer for one of Fireblocks' newest fintech products. You'll mentor and guide other developers in complex system designs, work closely with cross-functional teams to lead meaningful features, and connect exchanges, OTC desks, custodians, and wallets to create a multi-functional trading platform. You'll develop and optimize Fireblocks' trading API to ensure a seamless and scalable experience for users, and research and implement cloud-native architectures to support ongoing growth and scalability.

You should bring at least 5 years of backend development experience with a focus on scalable infrastructure, proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, and strong understanding of system design principles, distributed systems, and scalability. You'll need proven experience designing and deploying microservices-based architectures in production environments, and familiarity with monitoring and logging frameworks such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
Critically, you must have solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals including transaction lifecycles, block confirmations, mempool mechanics, and finality across multiple chains (EVM-compatible chains, Solana, Bitcoin). Hands-on familiarity with DeFi protocols and primitives is required, including AMMs like Uniswap and Curve, liquidity pools, yield mechanisms, and on-chain order books. Understanding of crypto liquidity concepts such as market making, order routing, slippage, price impact, and differences between CEX and DEX liquidity is a nice-to-have.
