Blipay is Tilt's Brazilian fintech unit, serving over 1 million customers with salary advance, FGTS, and consignado lending products powered by Open Finance and real-time financial signals. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll own the backend systems that move money in people's lives every month, working directly with product, credit, and compliance teams with minimal bureaucracy.
You'll build and scale APIs powering instant in-app lending experiences, develop integrations for payroll-linked and FGTS lending, and ensure the reliability and correctness that regulated financial transactions demand. Your work directly impacts working people accessing credit the traditional market overlooks. You'll contribute to code reviews, technical standards, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating across a 14-country, 12-timezone team.
Required: 4+ years backend engineering experience with demonstrated ownership; strong Kotlin and/or Java skills; solid AWS, PostgreSQL, and ECS knowledge; experience building consumer-facing systems at transaction scale; fluent Portuguese and advanced English (C1); comfort with AI-powered development tools like Claude. Fintech, lending, payments, or regulated environment experience is a strong plus.
