You'll join the Core Command team, scaling authentication, user management, roles, and audit capabilities to support the world's largest organizations. This role focuses on designing and building the foundational systems that power Verkada's platform globally.
Key responsibilities:
- Design scalable control planes and data primitives for all Verkada products
- Build distributed systems handling high traffic from hundreds of thousands of devices deployed worldwide
- Architect and spin up new microservices
- Work with Python or Go, relational databases (Postgres, MySQL), key-value stores (Redis, Memcached), distributed queueing (Kafka), and cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Collaborate across teams with strong communication
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
- 4+ years of industry experience building and scaling access systems to millions of users globally
- Mastery of Python or Go
- Experience with relational databases, key-value storage, distributed queueing, caching, cloud platforms, gRPC, and API specifications
- Full-time onsite presence (5 days/week) in San Mateo required
