As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will lead the development of financial services products from the ground up, including transfers, cards, lending, and other banking features. You'll ensure systems are production-ready and operate with significant independence, working directly with product owners and cross-functional teams (product, sales, operations) to solve customer pain points.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and scaling production-ready financial services products from scratch
- Collaborating with product and operations teams to understand and address customer needs
- Integrating with banking partners and third-party APIs to enable features like virtual cards, international money transfers, and financial data tracking
- Working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment with direct ownership of shipping products
You'll bring 6+ years of backend development experience and 5+ years working with Java. You're a quick learner with an entrepreneurial mindset, excellent communication skills, and a track record of building and scaling production systems. Experience at early-stage startups, fintech companies, or with payment products (card issuing, money transfers, credit) is highly valued.
