Rubrik's Security Apps team is building cloud data protection and security solutions for enterprises. The team operates as a startup within the larger organization, tackling complex engineering challenges in a fast-growing division.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll design and develop scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems that power cloud data security and analysis. Your responsibilities include:
- Architecting and building backend services that integrate with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) to ingest and process sensitive customer data
- Developing data ingestion pipelines and analysis engines that classify, correlate, and extract insights from cloud data
- Building anomaly detection systems that alert customers to security issues and automatically resolve problems
- Designing distributed systems using modern frameworks like Kafka, RabbitMQ, and async patterns
- Owning end-to-end technical design from conception through production deployment, ensuring systems meet high scalability and reliability demands
- Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in the software stack
- Mentoring and collaborating with other engineers while maintaining direct visibility into customer impact
- Working in an agile, high-velocity environment that responds quickly to new insights
You'll establish domain expertise in key areas and guide the product team on technical direction. The role emphasizes innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and solving real-world security challenges at scale.
