Salary: USD 160,000 - 180,000 / annual
Honor Technology is transforming aging care through technology and services that empower older adults to live independently. The company operates Home Instead, a global franchise network with 100,000+ Care Professionals delivering over 50 million hours of personalized in-home care annually.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll build core systems powering how families discover care and how Care Professionals manage their work. You'll work on production systems with direct real-world impact, collaborating across engineering, product, design, and operations teams.
You may join one of three teams depending on your interests:
**Workforce Team**: Building systems supporting Care Professionals—hiring, scheduling, and workforce optimization platforms.
**DemandGen Team**: Powering Honor's digital experiences and growth channels that help families find care they need.
**Growth Team**: Developing multi-channel sales and communication infrastructure (phone, SMS, email) connecting families, Care Professionals, and operations.
You'll own systems from design through production operation, solve complex problems at the intersection of engineering and human impact, and mentor teammates while contributing to a healthy engineering culture.
**Required experience:**
- Strong backend engineering background with proven production systems design and operation
- Relational data modeling and large-scale database experience
- Cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and service-oriented architecture familiarity
- API design, distributed systems, and backend performance optimization
- Python proficiency or transferable backend experience with willingness to learn Python
