FYUL (formed in 2024 from the merger of Printful, Printify, and Snow Commerce) is seeking a Senior Back-end Engineer to join its Commerce Pillar. This is a product-focused role where you'll design and build reliable, scalable systems that power on-demand commerce at global scale.
You'll work on high-load architecture and distributed systems, collaborating closely with product managers to ensure engineering decisions align with business impact. Your responsibilities include writing and shipping high-quality, scalable code; conducting code reviews and refactoring; taking ownership of feature design and execution; and contributing to a strong engineering culture through pair programming and knowledge-sharing.
The role requires 5+ years of back-end development experience with proficiency in PHP or Node.js (and willingness to learn the other). You should have strong expertise in distributed systems, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and software engineering best practices (SOLID, TDD, CI/CD, Agile). Experience with high-load systems, debugging, unit testing, and performance optimization is essential. The team values product-minded engineers who prioritize work based on business impact and take strong ownership.
Tech stack includes PHP 8.1+, Symfony, Laravel, Yii2, Node.js, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GitLab/GitHub, and AI-assisted development tools. You should be comfortable using Claude and other LLMs for architectural brainstorming and code generation.
The company offers remote work within EMEA (with optional office in Riga), flexible hours (start as late as 11 AM), private health insurance, extra paid days off for wellness and celebrations, learning opportunities, mentorship, and team events. FYUL powers merch commerce for creators and brands globally, backed by advanced technology and premium production infrastructure.
