Relativity Space is building the Terran R launch vehicle to deliver payloads to orbit using advanced 3D printing manufacturing. The Avionics team is responsible for the full lifecycle of the vehicle's electrical control systems—designing, building, testing, and operating the hardware that connects and controls every major electrical system on the vehicle and ground infrastructure. In this role, you will design, test, and analyze custom electronics for the Terran R launch vehicle. You will own hardware development through the entire product lifecycle: initial design, board bring-up, design verification, qualification, initial flight production, integration, and vehicle operations. You will work cross-functionally with propulsion, guidance/navigation/control (GNC), fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and reliable operation. Key responsibilities include: - Design and develop custom avionics hardware for mission-critical aerospace applications - Conduct design verification and qualification testing - Manage hardware projects from concept through flight maturity - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize vehicle-level decisions - Support rapid iteration and feedback loops between design, manufacturing, and test - Ensure reliability and on-schedule delivery to support launch timelines You will have significant ownership of components that will fly on Terran R and the opportunity to shape the vehicle's fundamental avionics architecture during a critical growth phase.
