Relativity Space is building rockets and spacecraft to serve today's launch needs and tomorrow's deep-space exploration breakthroughs. The company is developing the Terran R vehicle for commercial payload delivery to orbit, and has established an Interplanetary Sciences Program to make planetary research faster, more affordable, and more capable.
As a Senior Avionics Hardware Engineer within the Interplanetary Program, you will own the design, development, and delivery of spacecraft avionics systems from concept through flight qualification. This is a high-autonomy role where you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (propulsion, guidance and control, thermal, software) to create reliable, high-performance avionics that enable deep-space exploration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop complete avionics systems: architecture, design, integration, and verification from initial concept through flight-qualified hardware
- Lead technical execution of avionics hardware builds, including PCB design, harnessing, embedded systems, and environmental qualification
- Implement robust design and test processes ensuring reliability and safety for deep-space missions
- Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless integration and performance
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Help define the foundation of Relativity's future interplanetary avionics architecture and set technical standards for future team growth
