Salary: USD 150,000 - 180,000 / annual

May Mobility is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead teams solving complex problems in autonomous vehicle development. The company develops and deploys autonomous vehicles powered by proprietary Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) technology, with a mission to transform cities through safer, greener, more accessible mobility solutions. In this hybrid role based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, you will lead cross-functional teams to analyze and solve hard technical problems in autonomous driving. Key responsibilities include: leading teams through deep problem analysis using data, clarifying ambiguous requirements and prioritizing competing technical tasks, assessing and aggressively mitigating risks, and maintaining detailed project status tracking. You will coordinate frequently across autonomy, vehicle engineering, software, product, finance, and operations functions. Occasional travel to operational sites may be required. This is a people-management role for someone with strong engineering or technical background who has transitioned into project leadership. You should be highly motivated, energetic, and detail-oriented, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical credibility with proven program leadership experience. REQUIREMENTS: Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Engineering, Computer Science, or highly technical degree preferred) - Minimum 2+ years experience as an engineer or in other highly technical areas - Minimum 2+ years managing direct reports, mentoring and coaching - Minimum 5+ years technical project management experience including team management, project planning, status updating, and risk management (ideally with fast-paced R&D projects) - High level of initiative and activation; ability to enthusiastically take on challenges including those peripheral to core responsibilities - Ability to clarify and document fuzzy requirements and challenges for efficient team problem-solving - Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts including root cause analysis, technical challenges, solutions, and data-backed results - Effective communication with both technical and non-technical people and teams - Understanding of software and hardware development life cycles, integration processes, and test/validation complexity Desirable: - Working-level knowledge of the autonomous vehicle industry - 7+ years of project/program management experience - 5+ years managing direct reports, mentoring and coaching - Start-up experience
