Salary: USD 170,000 - 277,500 / annual

You will join a world-class computer vision team as a Senior Autonomy Engineer, architecting and implementing the core algorithms that enable autonomous flight on every Skydio drone. The role focuses on real-time computer vision systems that allow drones to understand and navigate their environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement real-time estimation, mapping, tracking, classification, and detection algorithms
- Imagine and implement new features that unlock capabilities for users
- Characterize and quantify the performance of the vision system
- Research and prototype new approaches to autonomous perception
- Contribute as a generalist across software aspects when needed
You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative small-team environment where theory, algorithms, and code converge to solve real-world problems.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with visual odometry, state estimation, mapping, and SLAM
- Proficiency with probabilistic inference and 3D geometry
- Experience optimizing algorithms for computationally constrained environments
- Deep learning expertise: training data, neural networks, online learning
- Solid software engineering foundation with commitment to clean, well-architected code
- High proficiency in C++
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative team environment
- More important than specific domain experience is the ability to make math, algorithms, and code align and work on real-world problems
