Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company develops Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that integrates thousands of data streams into real-time 3D command and control centers. This role is part of Anduril's mission to bring cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking to military systems. As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will design, build, and commission automated manufacturing systems that improve production throughput, product quality, and operator safety. You'll work closely with product-specific design and manufacturing teams to scope appropriate automation levels and own the design and integration of automation cells, including robot and cobot applications, conveyance systems, bespoke electromechanical systems, and automated inspection equipment. Key responsibilities include generating 2D and 3D CAD files for automation lines and their components, working with Industrial Engineering and Facilities teams to lay out production lines in new and existing Anduril factories, and enforcing internal processes and standards around requirements definition, vendor solicitation, commissioning sequences, and safety approvals. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field, plus 6+ years of experience designing and commissioning automated production equipment. You must be proficient in CAD modeling (NX, Solidworks, or AutoCAD), robot/cobot selection and integration (including path planning, EOAT design, and safety), and have experience with major conveyance systems and PLC/HMI control component integration. U.S. Person status is required due to access to export-controlled information. Preferred qualifications include 9+ years of automation experience, strong 3D CAD skills in NX, experience with automated dispense systems, multiple conveyance systems, control panel layout and electrical design, and MES/QMS integration experience.
